Too much time to myself makes me moody. Not sure did you can tell by my previous posts…

Then I see little cute reminders of home, and I FaceTime Cameron for half an hour and I feel better. He reminds me I am meeting people the next day and that is exciting. Fills my cup.
Water sports in Cambridge MA
Cambridge is home to Harvard University. the campus dominates the town. Students are everywhere. The maroon of Harvard dominates shop windows and flags in the street. It is the start of the new Academic year. In every cafe and shop you hear many different languages being excitedly spoken. But of course American voices dominate. They are most common but also loud. And persistent. I talk a LOT. But man, people here talk a lot. Without drawing great. Without consciousness of who is around them. Without holding the phone to their ear. Weird. I feel like an introvert in comparison.

I thought there might be more diversity. There is lots of cool street art here, but I don’t see these people in Cambridge. They may well be here but not where I’ve been. Then I read this letter to the editor in the Harvard magazine at my hostel and it made more sense.

Written by a former Dean. 50% of Harvard students come from top 1% of SES. Ugh. Cream of the crop indeed.
